2.MISSION STATEMENT:
We seek to promote the rights of torture victims and protect Kenyans from all forms of state petrated torture by advocating for legal and policy reforms, monitoring government adherence to human rights, rehabilitating victims of torture, and building the capacity of key stakeholders.
3.PURPOSE OF THE UNIT
–Rehabilitation of torture survivors and victims.
-Increased awareness on torture and contribute to its public outcry.
–Training of professionals on identification and documentation of torture.
-Raising public awareness concerning its role and purpose in democratic Kenya.
-Providing Legal Aid and Re-dress to victims and survivors of torture.
-We provide peace and reconciliation to the public.

-Extensive media coverage of torture by local and international media.
-Participation in the Amnesty International/IRCT global campaign against torture.
-Continued monitoring of human rights.
-Promoted action on changes in some laws.
-Provided needed training to professional, prison officers & police.
-Exposure on the extent of torture to professionals and strengthening their capacity to deal with torture.
-Improved documentation of rape for effective referral and legal re-dress.
