More Details: the Executive Director, RONJECT GROUP since its inception in 1997.Based in Ho, the regional capital of the Volta Region in Ghana, the organisation has been engaged in community mobilisation and development. this service brought to the fore the realisation that, poverty trends keep increasing despite billions of governmental and donor funding into the country/poor areas to create wealth. of significant count is the fact that projects at governmental and individual levels are hardly sustained beyond a year after the donor support phase.
this triggered research works to find the reason for lack of sustainability and discovered that, in 10 district assemblies under the survey, negative attitudes and behaviours accounted for 60% of the reason for project failures/lack of sustaining successful ones.
This resulted in the development of the BACK TO ROOTS PROJECT, a probing, animation, motivational and transformational tool that engenders sustainable development through building self-esteem, self-actualisation and identity for wealth creation. The project probes the ‘socio-cultural, political and economic basis for shaping attitudes/behaviours in Ghana. The study shows a common trend with countries that were once colonised.
this tool has been used to strengthen state institutions to up service delivery and productivity, revive many weak business associations and individual organisations since 2004.
