Sugbuanon Foundation DRREAM (SFDRREAM)is a nonstock. non-profit organization founded on February 2001,which centers on its vision of sustainable development in the countryside for poverty alleviation. It’s mission is to harness existing resources either local or national, and mobilize all sectors of society for the creation, and replication and implementation of projects towards fully integrated approach to farming and enhancing the productivity of farmers through technology transfer and market linkages.
Sugbuanon Foundation’s goals includes promoting institutional strengthening, facilitating and undertaking capability-building activities at the farm level; becoming an effective fundraiser and fund manager for rural development projects, and becoming a key player in the development of the community in the country.
SFDRREAM is one of the very active partners of the Local Government particularly in the Department of Agriculture for the implementation of the Farmers- Scientist Training Program- a training program in corn based production system aiming at bridging the gap between agriculture extension and the farmers in order to increase their capability of producing more through sound technology in farming thus helping the country attain food security. The said training has brought so far thousands of farmers who graduated the 3 Phases of the program. Developing not only their technical capacity but also their social being is the great impacts are its great impacts to the lives of the farmers. Number of FSTP graduates were elected in government positions- an evident of their wide grasp in terms of leadership and management.
