Fulbright Colombia invites applications for English Teacher Scholarship.
The Colombian Professor of English program provides young teachers of English from 21 to 29, who are linked to Colombian universities or undergraduate students in languages ?with an emphasis in English or equivalent qualifications, the ability to refine their teaching skills, increase their English proficiency and extend their knowledge of the society and culture of the United States, while assistants serve as Spanish at different universities in this country. The teachers selected will attend an orientation in the U.S. during the summer of 2013 before reaching their institutions host in August. Similarly, should attend a seminar organized by the Boreau enrichment of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and coordinated by the Institute of International Education (IIE), in order to share and discuss best practices in language teaching abroad and their experiences with other teachers participating in the program.
Eligibility–
- Being Colombian citizen (not having Colombian-American dual citizenship or residency in the United States)
- Be residing in Colombia at the time of answering this call and all the time in the same
- Be linked as an English teacher at a Colombian university or be a student of last semester’s degree in foreign languages, with emphasis on English or equivalent qualifications and have completed their study program no later than December 31, 2012
- Be between 21 and 29 years old by October 1, 2012
- Certify a weighted average of at least 3.75 notes
- Prove proficiency in English. (TOEFL IBT: 80/CBT: 213/PBT: 550 / Institutional: 550/IELTS: 6.0) Fulbright administered institutional TOEFL exams
- Applicant should not apply to other Fulbright simultaneously
- Agreeing with the two years in Colombia provided by the J-1
- The recipient must travel without companion or assistant, as the program requires it.
