GIST (Global Innovation through Science & Technology) works to build and to sustain science and technology (S&T) excellence in the region through locally-established programs that leverage the discoveries of the global scientific community toward innovative ways to improve quality of life and economic prosperity.
GIST invites all eligible participants from GIST Africa Region, GIST Asia Region, and GIST Middle East & Turkey Region to participate in its annual “GIST Tech-I” Competition. This competition is designed to encourage technology entrepreneurs to launch and/or grow a company in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Turkey through:
- Funding;
- Training and mentorship with successful entrepreneurs, angel investors, and venture capitalists;
- Networking opportunities;
- U.S. visits for up to 5 companies to establish direct connection with potential investors and partners.
To participate in the competition, you need to submit a ‘Go-To-Market Plan’ which includes the Executive Summary & a 2-minute Video Pitch. After the submission, you will be required mobilize your networks for gaining public votes
There are cash awards of $25,000, $15,000, $10,000 and $5,000 to first four winners under the first round of awards for which the ceremony will be held in UAE. The second round of awards ceremony will be held in the Silicon Valley where the GIST Accelerator program will be organized. This includes the GIST Awards where an Investment Committee will allocate $200,000 in awards to most promising companies.
