Government of Canada initiates call for proposals to curb violence against women and girls. The Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Minister for Status of Women announced the launch of a Call for Proposals for projects that will prevent and reduce violence against women and girls in Canada.
The Government of Canada will accept funding applications for the call for proposals, Working Together: Engaging communities to end violence against women and girls, in four thematic areas:
- Preventing and reducing violence against women and girls in high-risk neighbourhoods (Deadline: October 12, 2012);
- Engaging men and boys in ending violence against women and girls
(Deadline: October 12, 2012);
- Preventing and reducing violence against women and girls in the name of “honour”
(Deadline: November 9, 2012); and
- Preventing and reducing the trafficking of women and girls through community planning
(Deadline: November 9, 2012).
Eligible organizations must address a number of predetermined criteria in their responses. This call for proposals, working together: engaging communities to end violence against women and girls.
