Microsoft and the British Council will accredit three outstanding Young Education Leaders across the world have who have contributed significantly to the development of globally aware, globally competitive young people through the innovative use of technology in education. Young Education Leader Award is to highlight the importance of entrepreneurship, education and technology in achieving positive social change.
This award is for individuals who have made an impact in solving a non commercial problem within the education space, using Information and Communications Technology not only within their institution but also at an extensive, more systemic level, either nationally or internationally.
The recipients of the award will be celebrated at a Worldwide Education Leaders Briefing designed to inspire others toward becoming social entrepreneurs and honor the impact the Young Education Leaders have enabled. They will also participate in a UK Study Tour organized by the British Council.
The award is designed to recognize young leaders within all areas of education. Young Education Leader is a Social Entrepreneur or Education Practitioner (teacher, principal, district trainer, part of the Non Profit Sector, the private sector or a volunteer within the Education Industry) who recognized a certain problem, gap or opportunity and used his or her entrepreneurship skills and knowledge in ICT (Information and Communications Technology) to make a significant difference.
CRITERIA:
Age: Under 30 years old.
Their work contributed to the development of young people as globally aware, internationally competitive citizens, using Information and Communications Technology within the education space. The work must be non-commercial and should have delivered significant impact beyond their institution; at a wider, more systemic level (nationally or internationally).
Information and communications technology offered non-commercial impact in the development of education for global citizenship through the innovative use of ICT (Information and Communications Technology).
Profession: Education practitioner, e.g.: teacher, principal, district trainer, part of the non for Profit Sector, the private sector or a volunteer within the Education Industry.
Microsoft / British Council cannot be a full time employee, a vendor, or a consultant for Microsoft or the British Council. A social entrepreneur is someone who recognized a certain problem, gap, or opportunity and used his or her entrepreneurship skills and knowledge in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to make a significant difference.
They have shown leadership in promoting the use of technology in education focused on global citizenship
