Applicants are Invited to apply for Finding Fearless changemakers campaign for which participants have the opportunity to win $650,000 in grants and prizes.
Finding Fearless is a three-phase campaign-
- APPLICANT NOMINATE– First, Applicant nominate themself or someone they know to be one of America’s Most Fearless Changemakers. Organisation will accept and review the first 1,000 eligible submissions outlining active initiatives led by fearless changemakers with a plan to continue or expand their work.
- ORGANISATION NARROW THE FIELD- Fearless Academy – a team of 50 judges representing the Case Foundation and organisation partners – will review and assess all 1,000 applications according to organisation published grant guidelines to determine the Top 20 finalists and grant winners. The top 10 highest scores will receive grants of $10,000 each. The next 10 runners-up will receive grants of $1,000 each. All will have the opportunity to compete in “fan favorite” voting for more grant money and other prizes.
- APPLICANT VOTE FOR FAN FAVORITES- In the spirit of citizen-centered approach to philanthropy, organisation want applicant to decide which fearless project should receive a $10,000 bonus grant and other fearless prizes.
Prizes-
- A total of $650,000 in grants and prizes is available.
- From the 1,000 nominations, the Top 20 Most Fearless Changemakers will be eligible to receive the following awards:
- Grants of up to $10,000 for their project from the Case Foundation
- $25,000 Microsoft Software Grant for their nonprofit
- Microsoft Tech Prize Packs
- $100 REI gift cards
- One Microsoft YouthSpark Prize featuring a tablet running Windows RT
- During Fan Favorite Voting, applicant choose who receives the following fearless prizes:
- $10,000 bonus grant from the Case Foundation
- REI Adventures experience for four to Bryce Canyon National Park
- Grants awarded to the Top 20 winners range from $1,000 to $10,000. The Top 10 winners will receive $10,000 grants and the following 10 will receive $1,000 grants. The maximum amount of grant awards available to an individual project is one Top 10 $10,000 grant and one Fan Favorite Voting $10,000 bonus grant, totaling $20,000. Additional non-monetary prizes and incentives will be offered during the application and voting phases.
Eligibility-
- The Case Foundation will accept nominations for individuals who reside in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and are working on existing projects focused within that same area. If projects serve people or communities beyond this area, the nominee and any major affiliated organization must be based within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and working to engage residents within the States or District in such efforts.
- Nominees and nominators must be 14 years of age or older. Applicant may be affiliated with an organization, as long as applicant apply as an individual, not on behalf of their organization.
- Nominations must be submitted in English.
- An individual can be:
- A fearless leader or employee of an organization or group.
- A fearless local elected official or government employee.
- A fearless businessperson or social entrepreneur.
- A fearless community member or any mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, son, daughter, or brother not connected to any organization but still dreaming big and taking risks to change their community and the world.
- The winning entries must be for existing and current projects or initiatives that could use grant funding to continue or expand. Each individual is only eligible to win for one project. If the entry is not a self-entry, the individual responsible for the fearless project is the individual eligible to win grant prizes. Each individual is eligible to complete one self-nomination.
- In addition to a self-nomination, each individual can nominate five projects that are not their own. Any additional nominations will not be eligible. Daily or incentive prizes during the application phase of the contest are open to any applicants.
