1. Goodturn Society, a newly established organization registered with Joint Stock Company & Firms of Bangladesh, started its onward march in the year 2008 under the leadership of Former Health Secretary of Government of Bangladesh along with veteran senior scout volunteers and retired government official. It is an organization to develop young people physically, mentally and socially. In the process of progressive development, GTS volunteers get involved in a number of issues, which the community people are facing. Health covers a major portion of such issues. As in other developing countries, most of our health problems are practically social problems with health consequences. Participation of all actors are necessary to address any social issue, trained and devoted young group of the society can contribute more to mitigate those issues. GTS thus works with other young people living in the community on different preventive and primitive health care issues.
2.Mission, Goals and objectives : The mission of GTS is described as follows:
“To work as Non-profit, Non-political and Community development organization for the betterment of the community people.”
The objective of the organization is to:
i) undertake different activities for the vulnerable and deprived children
ii) aware young people on different health related knowledge and practice
iii) take necessary initiatives to generate employment for the street children
iv) work jointly with other similar type of organizations
v) assist Govt. as well as Non Govt. and International organizations to implement their activities
3. Statement of Objectives :
Broad Goals:
To develop core Team of GTS volunteers in each district to work as volunteer for all types of national needs such as health campaign, all shorts of social work, post disaster voluntary work, mass education campaign etc.
