Applications are invited by Malaria Consortium from qualified and deserving candidates for the Consultancy to support the opening of a country office in Yangon. Please note that this is a short term assignment for about 50 day. The location of this consultancy will be bases in Myanmar, Yangon.
The consultant will provide administrative and management assistance to the Malaria Consortium Asia Regional Office to set up a functional country Office in Yangon. The consultant will work closely with the Asia Programs Director and the Regional Finance Manager based in Bangkok and others in the Malaria Consortium team to fulfill the following Terms of Reference:
1. Liaise with Government of Myanmar to complete the registration process for Malaria Consortium
2. Establish a draft annual country office budget
3. Assist in the identification of suitable staff and office location
4. Assist in the finalization of a MC safety and security policy for Myanmar
5. Assist with the establishment of administrative and financial procedures
6. Assist MC staff and consultants in travel arrangements (incl. travel authorizations from the MoH)
Deliverables:
1. Bi-weekly written reports to Asia Programs Director
2. End of consultancy report
3. MC Yangon office is established and functional
Requirements: The consultant is required to use his/her own IT equipment and have reliable access to communication.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
Demonstrable established relations with Health department and other relevant GoM departments. Significant experience in Business Administration, Public Administration or Office Management.
• Working experience with governments, international and non-government organizations and donors at different levels
• Ability to prepare timely reports
• Cultural sensitivity
• Fluency in English (both verbal and written)
Desirable:
• Public health sector experience (preferably in health)
• Working knowledge of Myanmar language
Work Based Skills and Competencies:
Essential:
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a team.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication and presentation skills
