Applicants are invited for President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to Promote HIV/AIDS Awareness program offered by U.S. Embassy in Nassau. The U.S. Embassy will offer one-time grant between $5,000 and $10,000 for projects that promote HIV/AIDS awareness. The purpose of this grant is to educating people, especially youth, about HIV/AIDS and thereby preventing its spread; reducing stigma and encouraging safe practices for those living with the disease; and supporting communities to cooperate in fighting the epidemic.
Proposals should focus on increasing community awareness of HIV/AIDS and promoting discussion and action to combat HIV/AIDS in The Bahamas. The program strongly supports creative, original, and innovative activities including but not limited to, promotional risk-reduction and prevention messages, voluntary counseling and testing promotion, training and education opportunities, promotional contests, etc and encourages activities enlisting the input and involvement of persons living with HIV/AIDS. Priority will be given to projects demonstrating collaboration among local NGOs.
Proposals must include the following-
- Project Summary including purpose, target audience, and demonstration of need
- Budget summary listing the organization’s total budget, the project budget and other funding sources
- Resources and Capabilities listing number of staff or volunteers and previous projects
- Time Line
Eligibility-
Community based organizations, non-government organizations, faith-based organizations, businesses, clubs, schools, and individuals
