New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA) is pleased to offer grant opportunity for agricultural development and promotional projects.
In past years they have funded things like activities to promote a certain crop, surveys to test the market potential for a particular agricultural product, and demonstration projects to see whether a certain specialty crop might be ideal for scaling up production in New Mexico,” said Craig Mapel, a marketing specialist with NMDA who administers the grant program.
The pool of funds in the ADPF program is typically upwards of $100,000. Generally, amounts awarded range from $500 to $10,000 for individual applicants and up to $30,000 for groups working on a joint initiative.Grant funds cannot be used to purchase land, buildings, equipment, or any other type of capital improvement. Grantees are paid on a reimbursement basis; funds are released only after the grantee has submitted an invoice and corresponding receipts.
