The Confucius Institute in Auckland, in cooperation with the China Scholarship Council of China’s Ministry of Education is accepting applications for Scholarship program. The scholarships fund a full academic year’s study of Chinese language and related subjects at a tertiary institute in China. Foe this program proficiency in Chinese Language is required.
The scholarships cover the students’ tuition fees, shared accommodation and medical care during the agreed period of study. A stipend of approximately 1,700 RMB/month contributes to meals and study materials. Students will be responsible for their own airfares, insurance to and from China, required pre-departure medical examination, visa fees, and for any other expenses not explicitly covered by the scholarship. The stipend will be paid monthly by China’s Ministry of Education.
Eligibility–
- The NZ-China Scholarship is open to all New Zealand citizens in their last year of tertiary study, or to those who have already completed a full course of tertiary study within the five years prior to applying.
- The scholarship covers tuition fees for a full academic year, accommodation costs, medical insurance, and a monthly living allowance.
- Applicants need to demonstrate Chinese language proficiency and/or be working in a China-related professional or industry sector.
