DECLARING THE PRINCIPLES OF THE INITIATIVE FOR A EUROPEAN EDUCATION TEACHERS ASSOCIATION
As primary and secondary education teachers who feel the obligations deriving from our role, the need to be ahead of the developments and to participate early enough in the decision-making process pertaining to our children, their future and the environment (school, family, social, professional environment) that they will live in, we are taking the initiative to set up collectively a body on a voluntary basis with specific goals and targets, in order to reinforce the role of social organizations and collective bodies that represent relevant – active – policies.
To the extent that we can be specific and explicit, some of our goals are:
1. the incorporation of a European dimension in the process of learning at school.
2. the osmosis between the educational systems of the same – yet not only that exclusively – grade in various countries, through specifically implemented actions and activities. This osmosis has specific targets, specific content and will have tangible results.
3. the diffusion and mobility, the exchange and transfer of experiences from and to the school units of all participating countries and not only.
4. the transfer of good practices that will be accredited as such and will be recognized in a specific manner by specially authorized committees with criteria and rules.
5. the reinforcement of our participation in the decision-making Centers for issues that we are interested in, be them directly occupational problems and the development of school, quality and efficiency, aims and specific targets.
6. the intercultural approach and incorporation procedures.
7. the tension of conversation and the targets of the active European citizen, ensuring quality in providing information through reliable channels, timely, to everybody, in the same manner, with the same means, in the same timeframe. Our aim is sensitization and active participation.
8. the information and co-operation between counterparts on common interest issues (European constitution, European unification, co-operation and conversation, convergence, cohesion, territorial co-operation, issues of financial expansion and quality). Specifically targeted actions with explicit, defined in advance and compact as well as cohesive targets that everybody agrees and works on.
9. issues pertaining to the environment, energy natural resources and sustainable development, bio-diversity, technology, research and innovative applications.
10. volunteerism and active participation in evening schools, summer schools, schools for immigrants.
Our organisation established in Athens under law Desicion 4886/2009 and registered Nr 27970/2009.
We are open to cooperation and work in common interesting fields.
