DW Akademie is offering Training program for International Trainees around the world. The objective of this program is to provide better opportunities for Trainees in the fields of Media development, media training and journalism education programs. At least one of following native languages is required for the training program: Arabic, Bengali, English, Hausa, Hindi, Persian, Portuguese (for Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Urdu.
The training program for International Trainees is divided up into three modules–
- Compact Seminars- In compact seminars, all international trainees receive basic journalism training. This includes, for example, an introduction to journalistic formats, research, presenting, news writing or press and media law.
- Practical Training– Here, the focus is on multimedia work in the main editorial departments. This training is supplemented with stints in all areas in which journalistic work is required.
- Knowledge of Germany– Trainees get to know the diversity of Germany, at the heart of Europe, through lectures, seminars and excursions.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- The applicant must be a “native speaker” in one of Deutsche Welle’s broadcast languages. They must have such a command of this language that they can carry out journalistic tasks confidently and competently. A very good working knowledge of German is also required, with the following certification: Goethe-Zertifikat B2 or TestDaf level TDN3 or DSH1. Prior notification will be provided as to which native languages are required for the training program.
- University degree or vocational training or comparable qualification through training and professional experience.
- Practical experience working as a journalist, freelance work, etc.
