Legal Status of the Organisation:
The organisation is a registered social welfare organisation by the Registrar of Societies, Govt. of West Bengal under the West Bengal Societies registration Act, XXVI of 1961.

The organisation is registered by the Ministry of Home Affairs,Govt. of India, under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 1976.

Mission Statement
To empower the weakers sections of rural poor for their overall socio-economic growth and development, given special emphasis of the welfare of women and children.
Background of APS:
The Akshayngar Pallishri Sangha was formed in 1989 by a group of social activists under the leadership of Dr. Basudeb Giri. APS was established with the ideology to ensure social development and justice in the backwater areas of West Bengal State for the all round development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBC and Downtrodden People, especially who live below the poverty line with special thrust on women and children.
In our society, poor people are victims of economic exploitation and socio-cultural oppression. APS principally extended its activities towards the comprehensive development of these havnots people. These people belongs to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and OBC Communities.
General objectives of APS:
a) To develop leadership qualities, self-confidence, technical skills and decision- making power among the activists;
b) To promote educational system both formal and non-formal way;
c) To develop health status of poor and destitute community people through awareness and intervention programmes;
d) To aware and motivate the people on management of natural calamities;
e) To promote environmental regeneration and ecological development;
f) To take action for the empowerment and sustainable livelihood development of the people of target groups.
Strategy of APS:
To organize training , meeting, seminar and workshop on different social and burning issues and implemention of field level targeted intergeted intervention programmes on different social aspects.
