The National University of Public Service (NUPS) and Tom Lantos Institute is inviting international candidtaes for Summer School on Minority Rights with a special focus on the implementation of norms in Central and Southeast Europe. This program will take place in Budapest, Hungary from 4 to 10 August 2013. The objective of this program is to focus on the regional challenges of minority protection and ethno-cultural diversity management.
The Summer School provides inter-active academic lectures, networking opportunities for stakeholders operating in the field of minority protection and an opportunity to share experiences and discuss your own research projects. Hard work is complemented with interesting and informative cultural events.
Thematic areas-
- Jewish life and anti-Semitism
- Roma rights and citizenship
- relevant human and minority rights issues, such as human and minority rights education as well as the protection of transnational minority groups. TLI works in Central and Southeast Europe and a wider geographical area as needs arise in order to strengthen the enjoyment of basic human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Civil servants, decision-makers, teachers in higher education and public officials who deal primarily with ethnocultural minority related issues
- MA and PhD students who wish to acquire competitive personal competence beneficial for their
- future careers in academia or in practice-oriented professions
- Members of civil society organizations, practitioners
- Everyone who is interested in recent developments, current theories and advanced training in the field of minority protection.
