Applications are accepted for Rural Health and Safety Education Grants Program under National Institute of food and agriculture, U.S Department of agriculture. The goal of this program is to promote rural health and vitality by providing timely and adequate health information and promotion opportunities to rural residents of all ages, with consideration for health and life stage, healthy living behaviors, health literacy, and social opportunities for individuals and families to engage in promotion of their own health and the health of others.
Focus areas-
- Rural Health and Safety Education projects at state and regional levels
- One project addressing National Common Measures for Rural Health and Safety Education projects
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Applications may be submitted by Land-grant colleges and universities that are eligible to receive funds under the Act of July 2, 1862 (7 U.S.C. 301 et seq.), and the Act of August 30, 1890 (7 U.S.C. 321 et seq.), including Tuskegee University, West Virginia State University and the University of the District of Columbia.
- Applications may be submitted by any of the Tribal colleges and universities designated as 1994 Land-Grant Institutions under the Educational Land-Grant Status Act of 1994, as amended.
- Award recipients may subcontract to organizations not eligible to apply provided such organizations are necessary for the conduct of the project.
