Applicants from Iraq are invited to submit applications for research related in any field of the humanities or social sciences. The goal of this program is to emphasizes support for the humanities and social sciences, proposals for related work in the natural sciences will also be considered. This program is supported by U.S. State Department’s Bureau for Educational and Cultural Affairs (State/ECA) through the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC).
Documents required-
- Application Form for Iraqi Scholars
- A curriculum vitae
- A project narrative of no more than 4 double-spaced pages
- Two letters of recommendation (mailed, faxed, e-mailed or delivered directly to TAARII)
- Evidence of any official permissions required to carry out the project, from appropriate Iraqi authorities (e.g. State Board of Antiquities and Heritage)
Eligibility & criteria-
Eligibility is limited to Iraqi citizens, resident in Iraq, who are university faculty members, post-graduate researchers or full-time graduate students in recognized degree programs. Awards will be made on the basis of merit as determined by a review panel consisting of scholars from universities that are members of TAARII.
