Professional visual journalists are invited to submit applications for Reporting Change Multimedia Course offered by World Press Photo. The objective of this program is to strengthen their storytelling skills, 10 selected participants will receive guidance from professional trainers and a grant to produce a high-quality multimedia story from the region.
The course consists of three phases beginning with a five-day face-to-face introduction to multimedia storytelling with the aim of producing a story idea and work plan, followed by the production of this multimedia story while receiving online coaching from the trainers. The course will end with a five-day face-to-face workshop in which the produced multimedia stories are discussed and finalized. All courses will take place between January and April 2014.
Benefits-
Each of the participants will receive a € 2,000 grant to further develop their skills and produce a high-quality multimedia story from the region. Participation is free of cost and World Press Photo will cover the participants’ travel and accommodation.
Eligibility & Criteria-
Professional visual journalists (photographers and videographers)-
- With a minimum of one year of experience working as a freelancer or on staff
- Who are nationals or permanent residents working in Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco or Tunisia
- Who have the ambition to improve their storytelling skills
- Who have access to high definition multimedia equipment
- With a basic understanding of English and/or French
