EuropeAid is accepting proposals for Support to reinforce the independence of the judiciary in Lebanon. This program offers funding of up to €1.000.000. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 36 months.
Objectives-
- to sensitise Lebanon on the importance of an independent and impartial Judiciary as well as on the need to reform the judiciary as well as
- to propose follow up actions to consolidate the independence of the judiciary
- to develop the watchdog function of civil society regarding the independence of the judiciary
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be legal persons
- be non-profit-making
- be specific types of organisations such as: non-governmental organisations, public sector operators, local authorities, international (inter-governmental) organisations
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or of a country that is a beneficiary of Regulation (EC) No 1638/2006 of the European Parliament of the Council of 24 October 2006 laying down general provisions establishing a European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI), or a country that is a beneficiary of an Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance set up by Council Regulation (EC) No 1085/2006 of 17 July 2006 establishing an Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) or a Member State of the European Economic Area .
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
- The applicant or at least one co-applicant must have at least 2 years of experience developing the kind of activities defined under point 1.2 including the organisation of large scale events related to international judicial standards
