Proposals are accepted for Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition and Family Planning Services in Major Urban Slums in Kenya under EuropeAid. The purpose of this program is poverty reduction in the context of sustainable development, including the pursuit of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and other internationally agreed targets.
Objectives-
- benefit populations out of reach of mainstream services and resources and excluded from policy making processes
- strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations in partner countries, with a view to facilitating their participation in defining and implementing poverty reduction and sustainable development strategies
- facilitate interaction between State and non-State actors in different contexts.
- to empower non-state actors to address regional and social disparities in maternal and child health, nutrition and family planning through health related poverty reduction initiatives targeting populations and geographic areas that are out of reach of development mainstream and excluded from policy-making processes.
The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is € 2,500,000.The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 48 months.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be legal persons
- be non-profit-making
- be NSA, legally established in Kenya or in a Member State of the European Union, can apply under this component of the programme and be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
