All eligible Journalists are invited to apply for Alistair Cooke Award in Journalism offered under Fulbright commission. This program is offered to pursue Master’s in Journalism or in a specialist subject leading to a career in Journalism (eg Area Studies) at any accredited UK university.
Benefits-
- Fulbright Awards offer generous financial support for one year of study in the UK. Award funding is intended as a contribution toward the first academic year of tuition fees and general maintenance costs whilst in the UK.
- Grantees undertaking projects at participating fee-waiver institutions will pay no tuition fees and will be given a living/maintenance stipend of £10,000.
- Grantees affiliated with non-fee-waiver institutions will be given a grant of up £20,000 which may be used towards tuition fees and/or living expenses; however, where tuition fees are not charged, the grant amount will not exceed £10,000.
Eligibility &Criteria-
- The Fulbright Awards Programme is looking not only for academic excellence, but also-
- demonstrable ambassadorial skills with evidence of cultural sensitivity and a genuine desire to learn more about the United Kingdom and share with British citizens aspects of American culture
- experience and interest in a range of extracurricular and community activities
- leadership potential
- a desire to further the Fulbright Programme and give back to their home country upon returning
- In addition, all candidates must meet the minimum eligibility for this Award category-
- US citizen resident anywhere except the United Kingdom
- hold or expect to receive a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional training or experience) in a relevant area before departure to the UK
