Proposals are accepted for Non-State Actors in Development Program for Tajikistan under Europe Aid. The purpose of this program is to strengthen civil society as a pre-condition for a more equitable, open and democratic society. Also this program is aimed at strengthening the capacity of local actors, to inform citizens about their rights, to increase their capacity to understand and assess government policies and their implications on the fight against poverty and inequality, the capacity to contribute to reinforced accountability systems at local and national levels.
Thematic areas-
- Actions improving capacity of NSA (particularly those representing the poorest sections of the population, including marginalized and vulnerable groups that do not have access to social services) to effectively participate in poverty reduction through development of sustainable strategies and programmes
- Actions, supporting building think tank capacity of civil society organizations to enable them to provide expertise on development issues and influence public opinion in favour of good governance development policies and reinforce their capacity to play an oversight role
- Strengthen the capacity of local communities to address i) the delivery of public services such as: health, education and environmental issues affecting the community combined, and ii) support the creation of an enabling environment for income-generating activities
The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is € 700 000. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 36 months.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be legal persons
- be non-profit-making
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or in the Republic of Tajikistan
- be Non-State Actors (NSA) constituted in accordance with the legislation in force in Tajikistan. NSA from a Member State of the European Union must have been registered for at least three years at the time of the submission of the application. NSA established in Tajikistan must have been registered for at least two years at the time of the submission of the application
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
- be able to demonstrate to have regularly carried out activities in the field of development of the kind covered by this programme. NSA established in a Member State of the European Union must have carried out such development activities at least during the last three years at the time of the submission of the application, for NSA established in Tajikistan this requirement is limited to the last two years
