Proposals are accepted for Human Rights Awareness Program under Foundation for Human Rights. This program is also being supported by Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DoJ&CD). The goal of this program is to supporting civil society organizations in South Africa and the region that implement programmes which promote and protect human rights.
Grants of up to R120, 000.00 will be offered.
Objectives-
- Improving access to justice
- Raising awareness of constitutional rights
- Strengthening democracy through partnerships with civil society
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Be based in or working in any of the 9 provinces
- Be registered, or in the process of registering as a Non Profit Organisation (NPO ) that is a community-based organisation (CBO), Section 21 company (Not for Profit Company), or a non-profit trust
- Have a proven track record of implementing education and awareness programmes on Constitutional Rights
- Demonstrate that the proposed project will involve active community participation and benefit
