Proposals are accepted for Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship Program offered under U.S. Small Business Administration. The goal of this program is to to offer specialized entrepreneurship training to provide instruction, mentoring, and assistance in launching a new small business for female veterans of all service eras, female service personnel, and for current spouses and companions of veteran small business owners interested in expanding or/diversifying existing small firms.
Eligibility & Criteria-
In order to be eligible for this funding opportunity an Applicant must-
- Be a four year Institution of Higher Learning with the following qualifications-
- A history of providing entrepreneurship training to female veterans both service-disabled and non-service disabled, as well as to transitioning female military personnel, spouses and female companions of veterans who currently own and operate a small business;
- Established world-class entrepreneurship training program, with accomplished entrepreneurship educators as trainers and notable business owners with real-time business expertise as presenters;
- A history of successful marketing and recruitment of female veterans, inclusive of service-disabled veterans, spouses and female companions of veterans from all socio-economic backgrounds for acceptance into the training program.
- An established 15-day online Introduction to Entrepreneurship self-study course taught by an accomplished entrepreneurship educator;
- A history of sponsoring and hosting national training programs for female veterans, transitioning female military personnel, spouses and companions of veteran who own and operate small businesses.
- A history of securing private sector financial assistance to help offset costs for beneficiaries.
