Proposals are accepted for Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Development program under EU. The goal of this program is to consolidate and strengthen the capacities and roles of NSA/LA – in particular locally based structures – to contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals in Sierra Leone.
Objectives-
- To contribute to the improvement of the human development status of the population in Sierra Leone
- To build and consolidate civil society networks working for improved service delivery
- To empower citizens to access basic services by informing them of their rights
- To improve service delivery by supporting innovative partnerships between non-state actors, local authorities, the private sector and government institutions
- To empower citizens’ groups to impact on public policy formulation and implementation in the field of basic service delivery
The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is € 3.5 million for NSA and € 1.25 million for LA. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 60 months..
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be legal persons and
- be non-profit-making and
- be specific types of organisations such as: non-governmental organisations, public sector operators, local authorities, or a consortium thereof and
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or in Sierra Leone and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
