Eligibility & Criteria-
- The World Press Photo contest is only open to professional photographers and photojournalists.
- All entries must include the personal and professional details of the participant as well as a full specification of all digitally submitted images in the form of all required metadata. The photographer’s professional status must be established by providing a document of verification (press card, union membership card, letter of reference or other official document).
- Before candidate will be able to enter the contest, they must accept the entry rules and the declaration.
- If a photo is selected as the World Press Photo of the Year 2013, the photographer grants World Press Photo permission for its unlimited use for activities under the auspices of World Press Photo, without any remuneration being due.
- The photographer grants World Press Photo permission to use prize-winning material in all media, including online, in relation to the contest, the exhibition, the yearbook, and all promotional activities for World Press Photo, without any remuneration being due. This permission is limited to an 18-month period from the announcement of the 2014 awards and is applicable only if the material is selected by the jury.
- The photographer grants World Press Photo permission to use material submitted in the contest and selected by the jury indefinitely and without any remuneration being due, in its online archive showcasing the results of previous contests.
- The photographer guarantees that to the best of his/her knowledge no third party can claim rights or raise objections to publication/reproduction/distribution of the material submitted.
