The Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education (NUFFIC) is accepting applications for Netherlands Fellowship Program (NFP) for The Hauge Academy Training Course Climate Change and Resilient Cities 2014. The major objective of the fellowship program is to help increase the number along with competencies of skilled staffs in government and non-government organizations working in the sector of environmental sanitation and climate change. This program includes living cost, tuition fees, visas, travel & insurance of fellowship holders as specified in NFP Rules and Regulations.
Training Course Climate Change and Resilient Cities starting from 29th September to 10th October 2014 aims to give an insight on designing and implementing sustainable local development programs for environmental protection and improvement in quality of citizen’s lives. It covers identification of local vulnerabilities related to climate, food security and natural disasters. Linkages made to the varied local challenges faced by participants discussing best practices from different parts of the world along with the visits conducted to inventive projects aiming to prevention of air, water and land related environmental pollution in European cities help the participants gain greater horizon and understanding. This will help on building the best strategy for individual challenges. Participants will also be provided the tools that encourage dialogue between and participation and partnership of various stakeholders for environmental protection and adaptation to climate change. Urban and Peri-urban Agriculture and Forestry (UPAF) in respect to food security, forestation and improving of urban climate are specifically focused on the course. Productive reuse of organic wastes and reduction of urban energy footprint are given special attention.
Participants will be offered a certificate of The Hague Academy for Local Governance after successful completion of the course.

Eligibility Criteria –
- Government or non-government professionals who are the nationals of and work and live in NFP Country with at least three years experience and is nominated by her/his employer with clear need for training within the context of organization.
- Candidates should have applied for The Hauge Academy Training Course Climate Change and Resilient Cities 2014.
