The Netherlands Fellowship Program is inviting applications from working professionals in government, non-government or private organization in one of the NFP Countries for Using Media for Development Training being held in the Hilversum, the Netherlands from 15-26 September 2014. The major objective of the fellowship program is to help increase the number along with competencies of skilled staff in government and non-government organizations working in the Media Sector.
Individuals working in NGOs and civil society organizations are encouraged to apply. Women and those working in Sub-Saharan Africa are strongly encouraged to apply.
The two weeks training course is designed for experienced NGO Staff. Using Media for Development Training participants learn to use media more effectively to improve the organization’s impact as well as build relationships with local area media. Along with understanding the media theory, the fellows will also receive hands-on experience with creating audio and video content. Participants can be from any types of media – print, online, social media and broadcasting.
Eligibility Criteria-
- Government or non-government professionals who are the nationals of and work and live in NFP Country with at least three years experience and is nominated by her/his employer with clear need for training within the context of organization.
- Candidates should have applied for Hilversum ‘Using Media for Development Training’ 2014. To qualify for Hilversum ‘Using Media for Development Training’, the candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience working for an NGO that operates in developing countries or works on behalf of an NGO that works in the developing world; have some experience using media; completed higher education; working with computers; have good computer skills; have documentation that you are proficient in English; and be able to write a letter of motivation (150-250 words) in English stating why she/he wants to be part of the training course.
