Europe Aid is accepting Concept Notes from Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Development (NSA/LA) and the organizations working for Democracy and Human Rights in Vietnam for ‘Supporting Civil Society in Vietnam’ Grant Programs 2014. The main purpose of Non-State Actors (NSA) Grant is to contribute to the promotion and strengthening of an inclusive and empowered civil society in Vietnam. Actor Oriented Program that aims to co-finance initiatives proposed and carried out by civil society organizations and local authorities originating from the EU and partner countries in the area of development at local level, NSA/LA Grant aims at strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations and local authorities as a pre-condition for a more equitable, open and democratic society through support to their own initiatives. Democracy and Human Rights Grant aims to support civil society in Vietnam to become an effective force for political reform and democratization, and for the promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms of members of ethnic minorities’ groups.
The activities of the actions that receive the grant can be capacity building, advocacy and awareness raising events (conferences, workshops, trainings, etc.), peoples’ exchanges, networking, community groups and stakeholders’ consultations, studies, setting up of resource-sharing platforms, audio-video programs, service delivery policy papers, people networking etc. Total available budget of the program is €1,800,000. Duration of an action for NAS in Development program can be from 36 to 42 months and for Democracy and Human Rights program can be from 30 to 36 months.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Nationals from any countries are eligible to apply but Non-Vietnamese organizations must act with at least one local co-applicant.
- For NSA Grant, the applicant(s) must be legal, Non-profit making, Non-state Actor(s) in Non-governmental organizations, public sector operators, private sector operators, community based organization (CBO), independent political foundation (not political parties), parliamentary bodies, universities, academic institutions established in a member state of the European Union or in Vietnam.
- For Democracy and Human Rights Grant the applicant must be legal, non-profit making person in civil society organizations, including non-governmental organizations and independent political foundations, community based organizations, and private sector agencies/institutions/organizations, and their networks.
