Deadline: 20 January 2014
USAID has requested comments and suggestions on a draft program description for a planned new activity ‘Fisheries Integration of Society and Habitats (FISH)’, to be funded by USAID/Malawi. All eligible parties can send their comments and suggestions to the draft on activity that will be announced in few months time. The major aim of this request is to consult with the broad community of actors involved with climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and fisheries in Malawi to design an appropriate activity.
FISH has two primary objectives – increasing resiliency to climate change; and improving biodiversity conservation reflect the principle funding sources of the activity. These objectives are integrated through improving sustainable fisheries co-management, and it is assumed that the objectives complement one another (increasing resilience to climate change will improve biodiversity conservation, and, alternatively, improving biodiversity conservation will increase resilience to climate change).
Concise, issue-specific responses with reference to page and section numbers in the draft program description are welcome. The comments received from different concerned parties will help refine the program description to ensure maximum development impact, sound coordination with existing activities, and alignment with the Government of Malawi’s top priorities.
Eligibility – No restriction.
