The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Nigeria is inviting proposals from all U.S. and non-U.S. qualified organizations for grant program ‘Electoral Empowerment of Civil Society’. The major purpose of the grant program is to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) to become integral parts of election activities in Nigeria.
The Electoral Empowerment of Civil Society Project will focus primarily on improved management and expanded domestic electoral observation and participation programs for civil society organizations to achieve its goal and reinforce USAID/Nigeria’s vision for Nigerian Institutions and Systems to deliver sustainable, high quality services that will improve the lives of its citizens and its goal of a transition to a more democratic, educated, healthier and prosperous nation.
The five year long Electoral Empowerment of Civil Society Project has an estimated budget up to $24 million.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Any qualified US or non-US non-governmental organization (including but not limited to: faith-based organizations, foundations, academic institutions, civic groups, regional organizations, Private Voluntary Organizations [PVOs] and for-profit entities that forego profit) or Public International Organization (PIOs) is eligible to apply.
- Applicants must have established financial management, monitoring and evaluation, internal control systems, and policies and procedures that comply with established U.S. Government standards, laws, and regulations.
- Applications must be submitted in two separate emails denoting technical and cost/business application. Along with it, one original, three copies and an electronic (CD-ROM) of both technical and cost/business applications must be send via mail postmarked no later than deadline.
