The New England Biolabs Foundation is seeking letter of inquiry for community based projects in developing countries to make selections for inviting full proposals to fund the projects. The aim of the funding opportunity is to support the projects targeting local communities achieve their goal.
Grassroots organizations with an emphasis on conservation of biological diversity; sustaining cultural diversity (linguistic diversity, as well as traditional knowledge systems and practices); maintaining ecosystem services (water, soil, carbon sequestration); supporting food security and economic vitality of local communities; in the marine environment –sustaining healthy reefs and support of sustainable fisheries are funded by NEBF. Maximum international grant size is $10,000, local grants range from $1,000-$5,000.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Letter of inquiry from Belize, Gautemala, Honduras, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Ghana, Cameroon, Papua New Gujinea, Tanzania, Nicaragua, and El Salvador are accepted.
- Grassroots and community-based organizations (CBOs); Other non-profit, charitable organizations (NGOs); and Emerging support groups are eligible to apply.
