Global Editors Network is accepting project submissions from media entities for Data Journalism Awards 2014. The awards will be distributed in eight categories. Winners of each category will receive €2,000.
Award Categories –
- Best story or group of stories on a single topic, online or print
- Best data-driven investigation
- Best journalistic data visualization (most impressive, novel, compelling display) on a single theme
- Best data journalism application or website
- Best data journalism portfolio by an individual
- Best data journalism portfolio by a team or newsroom
- Best entry from a small newsroom, with fewer than 25 journalists
- Jurors’ choice
Eligibility Criteria –
- Media companies, non-profit organizations and freelancers or individuals are all eligible the awards.
- Works produced by individuals or teams of staffers from media companies and non-profit organizations, as well as freelancers or individuals are all eligible for entry.
- Works that are the result of a collaboration between organizations are also eligible for entry.
- Those works produced by staffers or freelancers collaborating with government agencies, business or trade organizations with a stake (financial or of other nature) in the issue at hand are not eligible.
