The Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme is inviting researchers in the social and human sciences for postdoctoral fellowships entitled ‘Fernand Braudel-IFER (International Fellowships for Experienced Researchers) program. The duration of the fellowship is 9 months. Fellowship holders must start their research stay maximum 6 months after obtaining the grant. The amount of the monthly stipend for room & board and living expenses is €2,000. Travel expenses (return travel fare) between France and the host country are covered (subject to prior approval).
Fellowships to candidates applying to –
- A host laboratory in any country in Europe, except Germany, on the research area of their choice in the human and social sciences – Total 2
- A host laboratory in Germany (FMSH-Thyssen-Clemens Heller fellowships), on the research area of their choice in the human and social sciences – Total 3
- One of the research centers in the Bruno Kessler Foundation in Italy on a research area in the social and human sciences – Total 1
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicants must reside in France and be affiliated to a university or other research laboratory in France.
- Applicants can be of any nationality, but at the time of application, researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the host laboratory for more than twelve months in the three years immediately prior to the call deadline.
- Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent) as at the date of application (i.e. dissertation successfully defended).
- Applicants must apply within six years of receipt of PhD. Exceptions may be granted in the case of a career break (e.g. interruptions due to maternity leave, illness, etc.).
- Applicants must be fluent in one of the working languages of the host laboratory; fluency in the language of the host country is preferable.
- Applicants may not apply to any laboratory in which they have already worked at any time during their scientific experience (including during doctoral studies).
- Applicants for FMSH must obtain a letter from the director of the chosen laboratory demonstrating they will be hosted there during their stay.
