Government of Canada invites the faculty or international liaison officers/managers from the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) for ‘Canada-CARICOM Faculty Leadership Program’ which offers them short-term exchange opportunities for professional development, graduate study or research at Canadian post-secondary institutions. Goal of the program is to support international collaboration between Canadian postsecondary institutions and institutions in the CARICOM through professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
Value and Duration –
- $2,700 CAN for faculty members for two to three weeks of course work or research as part of their professional development
- $2,700 CAN for international directors, managers or administrators for two to three weeks of course work, or for a practicum in the area of internationalization of postsecondary institutions or student mobility as part of their professional development
- $9,700 CAN for faculty members for five to six months of study or research at the graduate level
Eligibility Criteria –
- Candidates must be the citizens of one of the following countries – Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos.
- Candidates must be employed full-time as faculty or as international managers/administrators at a recognized higher education institution in an eligible country for the full duration of the exchange.
- Candidates who have obtained Canadian citizenship or who have applied for permanent residency in Canada are not eligible.
- Candidates already participating in an exchange program in Canada are not eligible.
- Candidates already enrolled in a degree or diploma program at a Canadian university or college are not eligible.
- Candidates must be proficient in the language of instruction at the Canadian institution (English or French) before arrival in Canada.
Timeline –
- The given deadline is for Canadian Institutions. Candidates and Non-Canadian Institutions are expected to apply earlier than the above mentioned deadline taking into consideration to submit other application materials.
