Articles about programs, projects, organizations, examples of interdisciplinary and/or cross-regional research, latest discoveries, and unusual findings on Oceans Environment and Technologies are invited to publish in Earthzine Issue 3 (22 June – 20 September 2014). The magazine aims to explore the application of scientific and technological research as well as policy and its implementation for the benefit of society.
Initial proposal should present the topic, list sources, and cite credentials for writing on that particular topic. All accepted contributions will be published online and will be freely accessible to the public.
Articles may relate to Applications and Research Initiatives in (but not limited to) –
- Ship and Pollution Monitoring
- Coastal Zones Surveillance
- Deep Sea Exploration
- New Technological Outcomes for Underwater Mmissions
- Spaceborne Sensing of the Oceans
- Active and Passive Sensing of Physical Events (Wind, Waves, Currents)
Eligibility Criteria –
- Topics may include project developments especially concerning the European Commission’s Horizon 2020, and the equivalent in the U.S. and Asia/Pacific; national or regional achievements; industrial projects with societal impacts among others.
- Articles should be between 500 to 2500 words depending on the topic and scope.
- Graphics should be submitted in common formats such as jpg, tiff, bmp, and gif. Photos and images should be of sufficient resolution to present all relevant detail. Image file sizes should not exceed 1 MB.
- Author should obtain permission if s/he uses human subjects.
- Author must submit a completed IEEE copyright form with the final article.
- Author can create hyperlinks within her/his article to words and phrases that should be defined, individuals and organizations with web sites, and other external links pertinent to the topic.
