The Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) invites concept notes from non-governmental organizations or community based organizations and government agencies in Belize for PACT Large Grants.
The Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) is Belize’s National Trust that provides funds for supporting conservation and promoting environmentally sound management of Belize’s natural and cultural resources to foster sustainable development. PACT works to encourage and promote, for the benefit and enjoyment of the present and future generations of the people of Belize, the provision, protection, conservation and enhancement of the natural and cultural resources of Belize.

- Protected Areas Management and Conservation
- Protected Areas Promotion and Development
- Environmental Education and Awareness
- Community Development around Protected Areas
Grant applications can be made in between $200,001 – $400,000.00 with 50% counterpart funding. The planned duration of the project can be up to two years.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicant organization must be registered non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or community based organizations (CBOs) in the sector of protected area management; and government agencies involved in the conservation and management of natural resources.
- Applicants must be registered under the NGO Act of 2000 and in good standing.
- Applicant must have been legally established for at least six months prior to the date of submission of the concept note.
- Applicant must have successfully completed all previous PACT-funded projects (if any).
- Applicants must have an operational budget exceeding $200,000 per annum and rate successful in an organizational capacity assessment.
- Applicant must not have two or more PACT grants of the same type ongoing simultaneously.
- Joint applications from two or more organizations will also be considered.
- Proposed project must target all the four thematic areas.
- The proposed projects must make direct contribution to the National Protected Areas System.
