The United States Agency for International Development in Bangladesh (USAID/Bangladesh) is accepting grant applications from qualified US and non-US organizations to implement its Bangladesh Counter Trafficking-in-Persons (USAID’s BC/TIP) Program. The BC/TIP program aims to improve the preventative measures to reduce the risk of human trafficking in targeted communities.
The USAID will sign one cooperative agreement to implement the project for the period of five years (2014-2019). The program should target at reducing the prevalence of human trafficking and increasing the protection of civil and human rights. This will improve access to justice by preventing and reducing the risk of trafficking, protecting trafficking survivors, prosecuting trafficking offenders and coordinating effective partnerships among stakeholders.
Grant applications can be made in between $3,500,000 to $4,000,000 for the life of the activity. The estimated start date of the program implementation is 1 October 2014.
Objectives:
- Prevention– Strengthen the capacity of communities to identify trafficking incidents/victims and to take action
- Protection– Improved access of trafficking victims to assistance
- Prosecution– Increased responsiveness of criminal justice actors to trafficking victims
- Partnership– Coordinated and effective partnership of stakeholders to combat human trafficking
Eligibility Criteria:
- Non-governmental U.S. and non U.S. entities and individuals including entities such as non-profit organizations, profit making concerns, Private Voluntary Organizations (PVOs), Public International Organizations (PIOs), faith-based and community organizations, educational institutions, etc are eligible to apply for the grant.
- USAID/Bangladesh encourages applications from potential new implementing partners.
- The proposed program must have a cost share of at least 5%.
- Two separate applications must be submitted – Technical and Cost/Business.
