South-South Scholarships Award 2014 for research on the theme ‘Work and Welfare in the South’ is accepting applications from candidates pursuing any discipline of Social and Human Sciences. The award program intended for researchers in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Asia is a joint initiative of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) and the International Development Economics Associates (IDEAs). The award targets to encourage the original research on the subject to promote the final work through presentation at an international seminar.

The aim of this research program is to explore theoretical perspectives and undertake empirical analyses of work and welfare in the context of neoliberalism.
Total nine scholarships will be awarded, three in each region. Each scholarship includes:
- US$10,000 Cash award
- Air Ticket and accommodation to participate in an international seminar
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be experienced researchers who have a master´s or doctoral degree.
- Applicants must be the based in and should reside in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa or Asia. They must commit to reside in the country they are applying from during the scholarship period.
- Applicants must have proficiency in English language.
Application documents include- project proposal, curriculum vitae with photo, and a letter of endorsement signed by the highest authority of the institution or center that supports the presentation.
