Sohaib and Sara Abbasi Program in Islamic studies at Stanford University calls applications for 1-year (2015-16) Postdoctoral Fellowship on Islam in Africa in any discipline and in any time-period. Applicants from any region can apply. Compensation consist annual salary of $55,000 – $60,000 along with $1,500 research fund and health coverage.
Fellow’s tasks are:
- To teach one course in Department of History,
- To pursue his /her own research task,
- To contribute to the intellectual life on campus, and
- To participate in the activities of Stanford Global Studies Division and Stanford Center for African Studies.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must have completed Ph.D by appointment, i.e. 1 september 2015.
- The recipient should not be more than 3 years beyond the receipt of doctoral degree by the time of appointment.
- Scholars from other disciplines (except History) such as Political Science, Art History, and Music whose work is related to historical analysis may also apply.
- Women, member of minority groups, individual with disabilities, and protected veterans are also welcome to apply.
