The Gender Summit 6-Asia Pacific 2015 invites the contributions of researchers, innovation leaders and other R&D stakeholders on strategies, methodologies and best practice on putting gender equality into action in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM). The aim of the 2015 Gender Summit Asia Pacific is to introduce compelling research evidence on benefits of addressing gender issues in science and technology to improve quality of research and innovation. Selected papers will be invited to present their work in the latest advances at the ‘coalface’ of gender research.
Established in 2011 in Europe, the Gender Summit is a platform for dialogue between scientists and engineers, policy makers, gender scholars, and other stakeholders, to report and review gender research evidence and jointly agree on what actions are needed.
The summit will be held on 26-28 August 2015 at Seoul, Korea.
Themes
Themes of interest for research manuscript submissions include, but are not limited to:
- Improving research excellence though gendered innovations
- Creating collaborative alliances to advance gender-aware STEMM research and innovations
- Improving diversity of STEM talents in research and innovations
- Gender based curriculum innovations in college & graduate school level
- Improving diversity of STEM talents: K-12 programs
- Responding to public aspirations for societal improvement through gender aware technologies
- Developing leadership capacity for gendered innovations through interconnected networks of female scholars.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants can be researchers, innovation leaders and other R&D stakeholders from Asia Pacific region who are working in the field of gender equality.
How to Submit?
- Abstract must be no longer than 500 words and 1-page in length and must be saved as a pdf file with all fonts embedded, no larger than 3MB in size saved as [Surname_Firstname_GS6AP.pdf]
- Completed abstracts can be submitted via email using the subject line: GS6 AP Abstract submissions.
- Abstracts will be reviewed by the International Program Scientific Committee.
- All selected contributions will be published in the Best Practice Guide.
- Authors may be invited to present their work orally in the Pre-Summit conference, Summit plenary, during working group sessions, or as poster presentations in the Summit Exhibition.
- Selected abstracts will be invited to produce a full paper for publication in the Summit proceedings.
- Abstracts need to be submitted using the structure and format of the submission template.
