The Peace Child International organization invites volunteers for International Entrepreneurship Trainer in West Africa. Disadvantaged young women with great business ideas are welcome to apply. The duration of this program is from May 2015 to December 2015.
Volunteers for Peace Child International Entrepreneurship Trainer will be provided with pocket money with free accommodation and meals, health insurance and visa costs. Volunteers must attend initial training in the UK. Flights from the UK and back will be provided for those staying the full year.
Key Responsibilities of a Volunteer
- Work with local organizers to deliver the 20 x training lessons,
- Recruit trainees and conduct accurate base-line assessments of their skills and competencies,
- Prepare Trainees Business Plans for presentation to the Selection Panel,
- Mentor trainees whose Business Plans are funded, find qualified local mentors to assist you,
- Execute the Monitoring & Evaluation and Certification processes, setting up reliable control groups,
- Work with government and donor officials to secure continuity funding to support ongoing BTCA training,
- Make sure that deadlines are set and met for the different components of the project,
- Develop and update the BTCA website, writing blogs and journals on the project,
- Assist in the preparation of accounts and weekly reports to the UK Headquarters,
- Fund-raising: identify potential funding sources; write letters and proposals, make phone calls, do pitches with local staff and volunteers to secure new local funding for the BTCA, and
- Research and find out best practice from other local enterprise training and/or micro-credit enterprise creation organizations.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicant should have:
- Degree in business studies.
- Experience in writing business plans.
- Some teaching/facilitation experience.
- Dedication to sustainable development.
- Experience working with young disadvantaged women.
- Experience living or working in developing countries.
