The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Haiti is accepting applications to implement Canaan Upgrading and Community Development (CUCD) program. It is a two-year program. Subject to availability of funds, USAID intends to provide approximately $12,000,000 USD for implementation of this activity. USAID intends to award one award as a result of this RFA.
The award will include two main result areas:
- A better functioning and more resilient urban area created through carefully planned neighborhood upgrading and urban management initiatives.
- A more dynamic and equitable livelihoods sector fostered by reducing market barriers and inefficiencies and stimulating new economic opportunities in Canaan.
Eligibility Criteria
- U.S. and Haiti based For-Profit Organizations, U.S. and Haiti based Colleges and Universities are eligible to apply.
- New potential partners are welcome to apply.
- USAID will not accept applications from individuals. All applicants must be legally recognized organizational entities under applicable law and authorized to operate in Haiti.
- Eligible Applicants are Private Voluntary Organizations based in the United States (U.S. PVOs) or indigenous, local NGOs, Public International Organizations (PIOs) and International Organizations (IOs).

- Applications must be submitted in two separate volumes: technical and cost applications.
- Applications have to be submitted through email.
- Subject line for technical application must be stated as: “Technical application under RFA-521-15-000008, submitted by: [name of Applicant organization].”
- Subject line for cost application must be stated as: “Cost application under RFA-521-15-000008, submitted by: [name of Applicant organization].”
