The International Children’s Peace Prize organization is calling nominations for the Children’s Peace Prize 2015. The International Children’s Peace Prize is awarded annually to a child, anywhere in the world, for his or her dedication to children’s rights.
The Children’s Peace prize is accompanied by an award of €100.000, which is invested in projects closely connected to the winner’s area of dedication. The winner receives the statuette “Nkosi”, a study grant and a world-wide platform to promote his/her ideals and causes to the benefits of children’s rights.
The International Children’s Peace Prize is an initiative of Marc Dullaert, Chairman and Founder of the Dutch KidsRights Foundation, and is awarded annually to a child, anywhere in the world, for his or her dedication to children’s rights. The prize was launched by KidsRights during the 2005 Nobel Peace Laureates’ Summit chaired by Mikhail Gorbachev. Since then, the prize has been presented every year by a Nobel Peace Laureate.
Eligibility Criteria
- An individual boy or girl (groups of children will not be considered) is eligible to apply.
- Participants must be from 12 to 18 years old.
- Candidates from across any country are welcome.
- The child must have a clear history of standing up and fighting for the rights of him/herself and other children.
- It is important that the child has an active approach in accomplishing this goal, which has led to a concrete result.
- Applicant must have the ability to travel abroad and feeling comfortable communicating with other people.
- The child must agree to being nominated for the International Children’s Peace Prize.
