The Consumer Goods Forum is currently looking for innovative ideas and concepts from individuals around the world who has a passion for food safety for its Global Food Safety Conference Programme 2016.
The GFSI Global Food Safety Conference is a unique annual event bringing together over 800 leading food safety specialists from over 50 countries to advance Food Safety globally. The Conference provides the opportunity to meet and network with industry peers, share knowledge, benefit from thought-provoking presentations from internationally reputed industry experts and hear innovative ideas to implement in your workplace.
The theme of the 2016 conference is: ‘Food safety: Achieving the Global Food Vision. 2016 Conference is scheduled to be held on March 2016 in Berlin, Germany.
Focus Areas
- Novel foods and how this links into global food safety
- New ways of communication and how to get in touch with consumers (social media etc.)
- Transparency/traceability
- E-commerce & food safety (various aspects incl. the cold chains)
- Emerging trends in food safety
- How the US food safety modernization act stands in comparison to EU legislation
- TTIP Food safety aspects (US/EU)
- Capacity building: how small growers/producers can use GFSI
- Food safety issues around food charities
Proposal submission guidelines
- The conference programme is comprised of plenary and breakout sessions.
- Breakout sessions should address specific topics, providing a more practical/technical angle/or Research & Development.
- Topics should remain high level and strategic
- Topics should not be country specific but address issues relevant to various parts of the world
- Proposals must encompass the following elements from the online form:
- The type of session: plenary or breakout
- The title of your proposed presentation (100 characters max.)
- An abstract summarizing the content of your presentation: (500 characters max.)
- Additional comments or full session description (2000 characters max.)
- Speaker details
- Ideally, sessions should combine different sectors/topics
Eligibility Criteria
- Everyone who is passionate about advancing food safety is inviting to participate in the Conference.
- Innovative ideas and concepts can include: storytelling, interactive groups, use of onstage props, TED Talks model, Pecha Kucha-style presentations (Japanese presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each).
