Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation use an interesting graphic presentation to track the progress of their grant utilization under the Agriculture Development theme around the world. The Agriculture Development initiative of the Foundation supports small farmers with tools and opportunities so that they can overcome hunger and poverty. While grants are administered to many organizations around the world, the Foundation has chosen to monitor their impact on six of the major organizations working on programs in different continents. Although the Foundation has several other tools to examine the progress, on its website, it has a fairly simple and transparent method of measuring progress. It has mentioned six grantees, which include International Development Enterprises, Heifer International, CARE and International Rice Research Institute and others and against each of their names, the number of beneficiaries has been mentioned in numbers as well as in image form. Each image, represented by a figure of an individual person with hands stretched, which actually means that it refers to 10,000 farmers. There are also links for each of the project with detailed report given.
