Deadline:-
- Strengthening Community Radio, Pathways to Digital Frontiers – 26 July 2015
- Monitoring News Media Reporting on Poverty, Gender and Communication – 13 September 2015
The World Association for Christian Communication, WACC Global has issued new call for project partnership proposals to accept concept notes from eligible organizations.
WACC is an international ecumenical professional organization that promotes communication rights for social change. It supports communication projects generally in the developing countries and will support only one project application each year from any organization.
Most project support provided by WACC ranges between 8,000 to 10,000 Euros. WACC will consider grants up to about 15,000 Euros. A grant can be for the entire budget or for part of a larger budget up to 30,000 Euros whose balance of funds is guaranteed by another partner.
Funding Areas
- Strengthening Community Radio – Communication rights are at the core of WACC’s work and WACC views community media as embodying such rights which are inextricably linked to all other human rights and which enable all people everywhere to express themselves individually and collectively in order to improve their lives and participate fully in society.
- Monitoring News Media Reporting on Poverty – News media provide the democratic arena where people at large can fight for their rights, social justice and articulate their concerns. The media can play a role in poverty reduction given its power to influence the masses and shape public opinion.
- Gender and Communication – Gender inequalities in participation in and access to media limit their potential to become inclusive, democratic spaces.
- Pathways to Digital Frontiers – Today’s communications landscape includes the increasing influence of the Internet and social media, the emergence of mobile phones and other integrated communication devices. WACC’s Strategic Plan 2012-2016 identifies the need to bridge the digital divide and to work for greater inclusion.
