The World Jewish Relief (WJR) is currently accepting applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser based in London, UK.
The Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser will develop an in-depth knowledge of World Jewish Relief’s global activities and to research, design, write and submit high quality applications to statutory and institutional funders, trusts and foundations to support these programmes.
World Jewish Relief is the UK Jewish community’s international humanitarian agency tackling Jewish poverty and reach beyond the community.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser will perform the following functions-
- Research trusts and foundations, statutory funders and institutional donors, creating and maintaining a database of potential donors and leading on developing the research programme to attract new sources of funding.
- Work collaboratively with members of the programming team, leading on applications to statutory funders and institutional bodies, such as Big Lottery and Comic Relief.
- Match up projects with existing and prospective funders to write and submit compelling and persuasive applications to these funders.
- Act as the fundraising team’s primary liaison with programming partners around the world, responsible for obtaining relevant information, statistics and case studies needed for fundraising proposals and appeals.
- Develop and enhance relationships with these funders, monitoring progress of projects and reporting back efficiently and effectively, meeting agreed deadlines and providing the highest level of donor care.
- Ensure appropriate acknowledgment and recognition of funders in World Jewish Relief literature and at World Jewish Relief events.
- Work with colleagues to formulate trust budgets, monitor income and expenditure and report monthly against targets.
- Implement a framework for evaluating and continually improving the success of trust and statutory fundraising
- Benchmark, monitor and draw upon best practice in trust fundraising and major donor strategy, adhering to Fundraising Standards Board guidelines at all times.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and meeting notes on the World Jewish Relief database (Raiser’s Edge).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Degree level or equivalent
- An interest in the world of international development and humanitarian work
- Highly developed writing skills – the ability to write compelling and accessible applications, reports and appeals
- A proactive, enthusiastic and open approach to engaging with colleagues, partners, funders and prospects
- Outstanding relationship-building skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Experience of working to deadlines and meeting financial targets
- Good administrative, organisational and IT skills including a good working knowledge of all Microsoft packages
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise objectives
- Ability to work collaboratively and to use own initiative
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible at all times
- Previous experience of fundraising within a trusts, statutory or grants role would be advantageous
- Previous experience of working with CRM databases, such as Raiser’s Edge would be advantageous
